From 18/1/13, my utmost for His highest:

The greatest competition of devotion to Jesus is service to Him. The one aim of the call of God is the satisfaction of God, not a call to do something for Him. We are not sent to battle for God, but to be used by God in His battlings.

What have we focused our service on?issit a self-fulfilling task? or God-fulfilling? do we in our fervour of service forget who we are really doing it for? What is our aim in serving Him? Issit aligned with God's?

I think this passage really caught me by surprise, because we do emphasise on serving God as one of the aspects of Christian living. but to say it snatches the limelight from devotion to God, suddenly puts service in a different light. i was confused when i 1st read the passage honestly. but i see the message now.
